Even if Keeno is determined to fill Rick’s shoes in their family business, he couldn’t help but clash with Don Gener because of their opposing approach in management. As such, the latter suggests that Keeno train in the States instead. There he would be able to learn without the pressure of living up to Don Gener’s high expectations. Since it was his father who offered the truce, Keeno accepts the proposition for the sake of Rick. He is about to gently break the news to April, thinking that she would understand his situation. But when he saw her that same day, he didn’t have the chance to tell her all about it because she was shaken after a confrontation with Arnold. As it is, Arnold is seething because August has already gained consciousness.

Since most of Keeno’s family and friends blame August for Rick’s death, April feels that breaking up with him is all for the best. But when she told this to Keeno, he insists that he is willing to give up his family for her and that he would find a way to help her brother come out of the mess he is in. April, however, has no choice but to throw his loyalty back to his face. She also tells him that he is crazy to turn his back on his family. Worse, April claims that she doesn’t love Keeno anymore. This hurtful statement finally convinces Keeno to leave her for good. But the minute he turned his back at her, April cries rivers of tears. Because the truth is, she loves him and she wants him by her side. But she just can’t take him away from his family after what happened to Rick.

More than anything else, Keeno regrets the fact that he and April didn’t make it to their dinner date with Rick the night he got involved in August and Arnold’s brawl. However, blaming himself for what happened and defying his dad for the sake of April just wouldn’t do any good. In the end, Keeno decides to take it slow and to fill the shoes that Rick left in their dad’s company. At first, Mr. Alejandro is quite wary of letting him work in their family business. But when Keeno explained that it is what Rick wanted, he finally concedes to such a request from his beloved son.

With this turn of events though, April and Keeno have to refrain from seeing each other in the meantime. As it is, Keeno will be busy learning the ropes of being a corporate executive while she has to return to her work in Glorious wellness center. The fact that Mr. Alejandro hates the sight of her also weighs into their complicated situation. Sadly, April’s case is most pitiful because even Fifi, who happens to be a good friend of hers, is now cold towards her. Fifi even asks her to transfer to a different department because seeing April around only reminds her of what her brother August has done to Rick.

Full of hatred because of Rick’s untimely death, most of his loved ones blame August for what happened. But since he’s still in a coma, they can’t confront him yet. Arnold, however, has already threatened to sue August for assaulting both him and Rick. To make matters worse, Mr. Alejandro prohibits Keeno from associating with April because he also sees as an enemy just because she is August’s sister. In a similar vein, Fifi refuses to talk to April when they happen to see each other in the hospital.

April tries to put up a brave front and even urges Keeno not to argue with his father about their situation anymore. But then she realizes that things will get worse once August wakes up. As such, she begins to wish that her brother wouldn’t stir from his coma as yet to avoid the hatred of Rick’s family. When Yang hears her voice her fears though, she insists that she feels in her heart that it wasn’t August who killed Keeno’s brother. But how will they prove this once a trial ensues later on? Keeno is supposed to tell April that it was he and Jessica who killed her father in a hit and run accident two years ago. But April senses that whatever he is about to say would ruin their blossoming relationship so she begs him to just forget about it for now. Soon after that, they are happily chatting again until Yang suddenly arrives asking for August’s whereabouts. She then reveals to April the true nature of her job and how August recently found out about it.

Unbeknownst to them, August has returned to the bar to seek retribution for Arnold’s indecent behavior towards Yang. He chances upon him in the underground parking lot and immediately attacks him with a baseball bat. They are fiercely hitting each other when Rick turns up and helps Arnold beat August up. Moments later, Jhun and Ashley also arrive to stop the brawl. While Ashley is calling for help though, Jhun unthinkingly joins the fight seeing that his friend August is being beaten to a pulp.

Except for Jhun, all three are sent to the hospital in a critical condition. Much later however, Arnold and Rick have woken up from their coma and have spoken to their respective loved ones. This enrages Yang at first because August is still unconscious and it seems that he wouldn’t come out alive with the wounds that he acquired. But to everyone’s shock, it was Rick who failed to make it as he lasted only long enough to see his beloved Fifi for the last time. How will his death affect the lives of the people around them?
