Five years after her father’s accident, April manages to celebrate her birthday with the only family that she’s got. Though she can’t help feeling sad, her brother and two of their friends cheer her up with their positive outlook. Adding up to her good fortune that day is the radio announcement of her win in a Hawaiian Princess contest where she gets an all-expense-paid trip to Boracay for four.

But it turns out that Rick—son of a wealthy business tycoon—who should have been April’s Prince Charming is not available for the event. So she ends up dating Keeno instead, thinking that he’s just a paid talent. Nevertheless, April is determined to make the most out of her “fairy tale” experience. To the point that she encourages Keeno to pose for the cameras as if they’re really enjoying each other’s company.

Unknown to April, Keeno has merely agreed to his father’s plea to take Rick’s place. He happens to be in Boracay at the time, hoping for some peace and quiet with his girlfriend, Jessie. As it is, they are still haunted by the hit and run accident that they have been into five years ago. Yet despite his woes, he can’t help but be affected with April’s infectious laughter. Even her story about how she and her brother were recently orphaned has made him laugh since she was able to relate it to the steak that they were eating and how the cow’s offspring must have felt when it was slaughtered.

Just when their date is starting to get pleasant, however, Arnold interrupts them with the news that Jessie is missing. They are yet to discover that she has gone to the steep rock formation near the beach to commit suicide because of her guilt over killing a stranger. The thought of Keeno comforting her all this time has suddenly changed her mind though. But it’s too late because she accidentally falls off the cliff and into her death.
